10 SIMPLE WAYS TO FIND INSPIRATION AS A YOUNG ENTREPRENEUR

  1. Take time off to reset and recharge

Overworking yourself isn’t ideal. When you feel overworked as an entrepreneur, you won’t be as efficient as normal. It’s always advised to work when you are feeling refreshed. Sometimes, the key to finding inspiration as an entrepreneur, no matter the age, is to take some time off and have time to reset.

2. Keep a notebook at all times

You never know when a spark of inspiration is going to hit you, so we recommend either writing it down in a notebook, your notes app, or even texting it to yourself (our CEO does this all the time!). Sometimes, while falling asleep, you’ll get your best ideas so it’s good to keep a notebook by your bedside table at all times. You don’t want to let go of that inspiration - it might just be your next best idea! You’ll thank us later.

3. Change your environment

Do you work from home everyday? If you do, go to a coffee shop or a co working space! Changing up your environment or even your schedule will trigger creativity for your projects since you are doing something out of the norm. We’re not saying to through your routine out the window, but change up work schedule or environment if you can! Our CEO, Gigi, works from her apartment, coffee shops around Tampa, and even co working space like Industrious. The cool thing about Industrious is that they have multiple locations in Tampa and around the world. If you work from home definitely look more into this.

4. Go outside

The common theme here is to keep it moving! Keep those creative juice flowing. Go outside for a walk or have lunch outside with no distractions (meaning no cellphones). We recommend going outside for a few minutes for a quick, yet super effective reset. We promise you it’ll be worth it! You’ll feel good by just being outside. To be completely honest, being inside all day is not fun. Allow your body to move and breathe in the outside air.

5. Reach out to someone you admire

Talk to someone who understands what you’re working on. They might be able to give you some great advice and even help that light of inspiration turn on. They have a fresh set of eyes and can give you pointers that you hadn’t even thought of. You know what they say, “Team work makes the dream work”.

6. Meditate or journal

If you’re more of the journaling type, write out all your thoughts and ideas. Write non stop for 3 minutes. See what comes to mind.

If you're more of the meditating type, what comes to your mind when you think about your goal or project (no limiting beliefs here!)? Picture yourself without any limitations.. What would you do?

7. Look at accounts that inspire you

What recent trends have you been liking? What have the accounts you admire been doing? Is there something that sticks out to you? If so, start there. What is making it appealing to you? And, of course, we have our trusted Pinterest. Pinterest is our go to place for inspiration.

8.Create a vision board

Find what inspires you and go from there.  Be creative and pick out themes, colors, typography that sticks out to you.

9. Learn something new

As young entrepreneurs, our lack of inspiration might come from the lack of learning something new. Challenge yourself to do something that is different or out of your comfort zone. The inspiration for young entrepreneurs comes from constantly learning and expanding our knowledge and skill set

10. Finish another task

If you’re in a creative rut with no ideas coming to mind, simply move on. Move on to another task and be productive elsewhere instead of wasting time hoping for some creativity to kick in. And, who knows, perhaps while you’re working on something else, you’ll come across something that strikes up your creativity. You might find inspiration by working on another task.

Best of luck on all your creative endeavors and we hope that these 10 tips gave you some inspo. We’ve all been in creative ruts at one point or another - don’t be too hard on yourself! It’ll definitely pass. And, soon enough, you’ll be the creative genius that you are!

Cheers,

The Girl Socially Team
